So much promise, yet no durabilityDec 27, 2007 I bought this paddle for adventure racing 2 years ago. The paddle held great promise in that it would fit in a pack and it was durable enough to withstand the abuse of a race. At the 6 month mark the threaded caps unglued themselves from the shafts. I had to use marine grade glue to put them back on. Now at about the 2 year mark, I find myself shopping for new paddles. The little fingers in the collars that apply pressure to the shafts when tightening have ALL fallen off. I can no longer tighten the shafts down and the paddle turns on me every single time I dig. The multi-piece advantage of these paddles was always offset by their weight, but now they are just plain worthless. I can't recommend these and honestly, I hate the threaded collars on the SRS paddles.
