Suunto M-3G compassFeb 18, 2008 Have used this compass twice so far. Once on a 15 mile trek thru part of the Adirondack Park this winter and on a 4 mile snowshoe trek closer to home. Precision is superb. Used it conjunction with a USGS topo map each time. Came back to within 25 yards of my original point of departure in both cases.

As advertisedMay 21, 2007 Good: Needle is stable and settles quickly.
I seem to get repeatable readings from the compass.
Quality look and feel.
Unknown (yet): Durability, haven't had it long enough.
Less good: Oddly, the instructions seem generic and don't mention that you can adjust the declination via the small screw on the back.
For the money I expected at least a cheap cover to protect against scratching, etc.
The needle tilts slightly (because it's the international model?).
